By now, the world knows of the tragedy found on the grounds of a former residential school in Kamloops BC. Heartbreaking. Horrible. Really, there are no words.
In Medicine Hat, we have our “world’s largest tipi” and local groups set out 215+ pairs of shoes in commemoration. Sadly, it did the one thing it rarely does here – it rained, sometimes heavily for the last couple of days.
As a result, we are drying out 215+ pairs of shoes in our garage. I spent some time with them today, wondering about each of these kids and what they might have been.
Join me amongst the shoes for a few moments please. And may we work towards a world where there are no children’s shoes without feet to go in them.
